Shift 1 & 2

The Shift set is a handwoven interior product pair that expolores form, color, and material. Both pieces were woven on a rigid heddle loom with silk and cotton fibers. The pillow was created during the class Introduction to Weaving, and the lamp was creates as a studio art honors project. Both use similar weaving techniques which were further developed and improved during the creation of the lamp. The lamp also uses steel as a structural element, and it can be unfolded to lay flat for transportation and storage. The steel is sewn into the fabric at the top connection point and on the base of each panel, allowing for the fabric to hold its shape when folded. The colors were chosen to create contrast, both within a single piece and as a set. This set was made in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.
